2026 season: review of a first year in the U23 ranks
In his first season in the U23 category, Gustave Blanc discovered the international calendar with Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies, the development team of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe. The numbers: 29 race days, 12 races, 4 countries.
A season start to learn
The season opened at the end of January in Mallorca, at the Trofeo Andratx – Pollença, followed by the Tour of Sardinia (58th overall) and several Italian races in spring, including the G.P. Palio del Recioto (33rd). A demanding first block, often against older riders.
The Giro Next Gen, a first breakthrough
In June, at the Giro Next Gen, the U23 Tour of Italy, Gustave finished 4th on the queen stage, 4th in the young rider classification and 6th in the mountains classification. A strong team performance: Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies won the team classification, and a teammate won the points classification.
Best young rider in the Aosta Valley
In July, at the Giro della Valle d’Aosta – Mont Blanc, he achieved his best result of the year: winner of the young rider classification, 3rd in the mountains classification and 6th overall, with a 5th and a 7th place on stages.
Tour de l’Avenir and end of season in Italy
At the end of August, he started the Tour de l’Avenir with Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies (22nd on stage 1), before finishing the season in Italy: Coppa Agostoni (28th) and Coppa Città di San Daniele (15th).
